Introduction : Carp, Quillback and Suckers, all from the Minnow family, can be caught using the same general fishing gear, techniques and bait. Creek Chubs and Shinners can be caught similarly as well but you will need to use tiny hooks, particular for the shinners. Carp, Quillback and Suckers inhabit many of the same waters however carp have a much larger home range. The best quillback and sucker fishing can be found in the major rivers of minnesota as well as many of the smaller tributary waters. Carp are in all of these areas but are move successful than suckers and quillback in lakes, where as quills and suckers have the upper hand in rivers and streams. Chubs and Shinners are most successful in the smallest streams and lakes where winter kill limits competition from larger fish like carp and preditation from game fish particularly northern pike. |

Culprits: The Minneapolis Fishing Banditos City Fishing Club- Members span from Minneapolis Minnesota, to Chicago, Illinois, to New York City to Canada. And international fisherman outside North America are always welcome. We love catching big city fish under some of the hardest fishing pressure conditions, and love catching untouched fish from pristine waters. Pleasure can come from catching a fish in the city and saying, "I caught this same fish." In the wilderness it's a different pleasure to be the first person to have ever caught a particular fish. |
