Culprits: The Minneapolis Fishing Banditos City Fishing Club- Members span from Minneapolis Minnesota, to Chicago, Illinois, to New York City to Canada. And international fisherman outside North America are always welcome. We love catching big city fish under some of the hardest fishing pressure conditions, and love catching untouched fish from pristine waters. It's fun in the city to catch a fish and say I caught this exact same fish before. In the wilderness it's wonderful to be the first person to a catch a fish. Location : City Fishing- The Mississippi River, Lake Calhoun, Lake Harriet, Lake of the Isles, Cedar Lake, Lake Hiawatha. Suburbs Fishing- White Bear Lake, Lake Waconia, Lake Minnetonka, St. Croix River, Minnesota River, White Bear Lake, Lake Waconia, Lake Minnetonka. BWCA (Boundary Waters Canoe Area) and Quetico Provincial Park are cool. Important Fishing Gear, Tackle, and Lures : DO NOT EVER USE A LEADER. Tiny yellow jigs may work(retrieve very slowly), rods with more flex good, bait casting reels with lots of line a must. Fishing Bait : Corn, chum, Nightcrawlers, worms, crayfish, grasshoppers, dough balls. Minnows have been know to work in river. Techniques : Finding a good place to fight and land a big carp is very important. Avoid overly weedy areas. Look for sand/ hard bottom. Avoid overly rocky bottom as your bait will get lost and you will snag often. Carp bite 24 hours a day but they hate cold fronts. |
