ok. no one will believe me. i hardly believe it myself. but i was there. at what will become a ledgend in its own time. matt and several other people were carpfishing at the greys bay dam. no one had even seen a fish. mat had a bite and said it felt like a northern. after a very long and perfectly played fight, around boats that were launching and trailers coming in etc. he finaly got it safely in. I fortunatly had a large net. and offered it to the man out in the water. he netted it. we quickly measured 39" but didnt pinch the tail,. possibly one of the thickest 39 ers ive seen. it had lots of gashes on its body. possibly from spawning. it was quickly released after a snap from a camera. it swam off nicely.
