IF YOU CAN CATCH THEM... THROW ROCKS
(MARCH 21, 2001)
Last weekend I made it back to MN because of a meeeting downtown. Fishing was in the cards of fate so I rounded up Uncle Pete and Sean. We went to Misses Swampy and tried our luck against the sheephead and other forces in the universe. We had a can of corn and a contain of worms. After almost being crushed by falling rocks from the cliffs we made it to a spot. Of course we didn't catch anything. I decided to throw a small rock in the water because we were still fishing and it would be about the worst thing you could do for fishing so I thought it would be funny. It was followed by a rock of similar size from uncle Pete. Then Sean skipped a rock. Then all started skipping rocks. Somebody decided to thow a large rock in with no intention of skipping it. Soon we were all throwing the largest rocks we could pick up in the water. The chaos continued for about 30 minutes. Then we sat down. Then I took a small rock and threw it at Peter. Peter threw one back and me. I threw a few more at him and it began escallated until we were throwing lots of rocks at each other. My favorite technique was to throw a large rock up in the air that was dangerously large to distract him and then peg him with smaller rocks. His favorite technique was to throw large rocks in the water nearest me and watch the ice water splash me. Then we left, went home and ate a gallon of ice cream malts.
